Provides direct nursing and personal care services to individuals with intellectual disabilities in a community home setting including but not limited to: dispensing medications; observation and recording of medical conditions and behaviors, crisis intervention, scheduling of medical appointments/evaluations/conferences, record maintenance will be data entries into specific data bases, recreation, leisure and housekeeping activities. Other related duteis as required.
MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: None. (See Section XIII, Special Requirements.)
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a current and valid license as a practical nurse under the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
Understand and write in the English Language.
THIS IS AN OPEN CONTINUOUS POSTING. Positions locations range from Waltham Campus to the South Shore and the Western part of the State. Hours and days off vary from full-time to part-time to meet the needs of the department. Applicants must be flexible in work schedule. Must have a valid Massachusetts drivers license. May be required to drive between work sites as assigned. All applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment medical exam.

This position is designated as an "EMERGENCY" POSITION IN THE DEPARTMENT OF Developmental Services EMERGENCY PLAN. THIS MEANS THAT WHENEVER THE GOVERNOR DECLARES THAT THE COMMONWEALTH IS IN A STATE OF EMERGENCY, YOU WILL BE REUIRED TO REPORT TO WORK.
Additionally, this is a 24hour/7 days a week staff position. The Department of Developmental Services requires employees in this position to be able to perform "MANDATORY OVERTIME" when circumstances dictate the need.
